It looks like that we will soon have more choices for abutment blocks available for CEREC users. Vita will be introducing a full line of blocks that can be used on the Sirona abutments at the IDS meeting next week. These blocks still need to undergo FDA testing, however it will be nice for CEREC users to have choices when it comes to fabricating restorations for implants.
There will be 3 different "blocks with a hole" introduced at the IDS by Vita.
The first block will be a Vita Enamic block. Enamic has been used for inlays, onlays and crowns and is a resin reinforced ceramic blocks based on Vita Mark II.
The second block will be made from Suprinity. Suprinity is a yet to be released zirconia reinforced lithium silicate.
The third block will be a CAD Temp block for implant provisionals.
After the IDS, I will present more information on these blocks and all the other new products that will be coming down the pipleline. Images and press release attached.
