CEREC Propsals 180 Degrees Reversed

A common problem that comes up on the forums and in hands-on classes is when doing multiple restorations the proposals are rotated 180 degrees.

The cause for this is actually very simple but often over looked. This occurs when the wrong tooth is marginated. Notice on the picture below that tooth #5 is designated but the restoration that is active is in the position of #4.

When doing regular chair side restorations all you have to do is go back and reset the margins and marginate the correct tooth. When doing chair side abutments you have to go back to the trim model stage.

After this you have to redesignate where the scan body is. If you look closely at the picture below, after you can see that the purple dot is still located in the previous location even though we have trimmed the model in the proper location.

Once designated to the proper tooth you go through the steps as normal. Both teeth need to be corrected this way. But once this is done the new proposals will be in the proper orientation.
