One of the greatest improvements in the CEREC Chairside 4.3 software update is full arch scanning and the accuracy of the virtual models. Not only are the models crisp and accurate, the scanning is simple and quick. Unlike past versions of the software where crossing the midline, incisal edge scanning, and stitching could be tedious and time consuming, CEREC Chairside 4.3 allows the user to do all of this in a fraction of the chair time of past versions. The lips, tongue, cheek, and other soft tissue interferences also are no longer a problem. As the clinician advances to the model phase (Buccal Bite and Model Axis) the software now “cleans” the models to reduce the need for cutting and trimming prior to Buccal Bite stitching. The example below shows imaging of a maxillary arch for crowns #6-11.
Note the lip, cheek, and other information picked up in the digital impression. By advancing through Buccal Bite and Model Axis the software cleans the model so no additional model “trimming” or “cutting” is needed. The model below is untrimmed and “cleaned” by the software.
The improved imaging and model accuracy of 4.3 software, along with CEREC Connect available in the chairside version makes full arch imaging fast and easy. Whether the case is planned for in office fabrication or being sent via CEREC Connect, digital impressions with CEREC Omnicam will make now make this process efficient and anxiety free.
