CEREC Upkeep

I received an email last week from a CEREC specialist asking me to do a blog on something that I have to say, I never thought of doing but it makes a ton of sense. He wanted me to write a blog about a very important tool that we use every week and it is the tool that opens the filter of our water tank. This tool is extremely important so always make sure to leave it in a place where everyone who will be cleaning the filter and changing the water knows where it is. I would STRONGLY recommend not using something like a pliers to try and open the tank because it ruins the plastic pretty quick. Here is a quick photographic rundown of the tool and how to use it.

This is a photo of the filter. It has plastic covers that protect/seal openings at the top, side and rear of the tank.

The next 2 photos are of the tool and how to open the top of the tank. When the handle is down, you use that side to open the top of the filter.  You would open this part of the tank to refill it with distilled water and oil lubricant.

The next 3 photos are of the other end of the filter tool and how to open the side and back of the filter. This is done when we are opening the tank to clean it. The side opening will allow us to remove the filter and clean it. The back opening allows us to remove that plastic plug and let the dirty water flow quickly out of the tank and into the sink.

To be able to see how to properly change water, clean filters and utilization of this important tool, check out this video in the team training section that shows the process in detail. Here is a link to that video: http://www.cerecdoctors.com/digital-learning/view/id/760/category/192
