Thankful For Same Day Feedback Using CEREC...

Not MY best moment I suppose, but this case does make me proud to be a CEREC user.

I was making an e.max crown for tooth #18 and noticed this "sweet" mesial margin on my crown when I took a bitewing of the crown in the purple phase.

I was both surprised and disappointed, as I thought my margin was pretty clear, but obviously my prep missed the margin from the previous crown.  It set us back a little more than 30 minutes, but I was able to improve my margin, re-image, and re-mill the crown for a better result.

It is frustrating for me when I get something wrong like that, but I love having the ability to correct my mistakes quickly with minimal inconvenience to my patients, thanks to my CEREC.

Talking with the patient, I highlighted the benefit of being able to see and correct any problems within today’s visit, as opposed to having to deal with a dud after waiting 2-3 weeks for the lab to make the crown.  She was appreciative of our thoroughness and was actually just excited to see the milling machine make another crown and to be able to take the first crown home as a souvenir.  Go figure.

Sweet Save!

Mark

Thank you for correcting this. So often we see things just done, and not done correctly. I think there is a big difference between the two. That patient will never know the difference but you will and Karma will.  Happy Easter to you.  And those margins look perfect. I take BW of the purple phase also all the time.

One of the Many reasons I LOVE Cerec!!!!!!!!    Great Job!!!!!!!!!

GREAT post Carson.  thanks for sharing.

Nice work! Thanks for sharing! If you've been doing CEREC for any appreciable amount of time, it's happened to all of us!

Great post!

Carson,

Like Dan said. It's happened to all of us. It's your final result that counts.

I am impressed that even with all of your badges and cerec experience, you took a BW to check fit! Is this routine for you at this point?

Thanks for sharing! Great improvement and great part of cerec!
