a new smile
The following case was a rewarding smile makeover for a young patient who had always hated her smile. Of course, we always start our evaluation with the FGTP template, which shows us that this was both a tooth size and gingival asymmetry issue. I did the wax-up, transferred the wax-up to the mouth, and completed the interim gingivectomy and provisionals, after which the periodontist did the definitive crown lengthening. After a few months of healing, it was a rather predictable and efficient transition from the approved provisionals to the final Cerec restorations using segmental Biocopy. There's nothing in dentistry more fun than this!
Completely awesome Ross both in execution and presentation.... Thank you for sharing! Keep it coming...

I love the characterization of the incisal edges. Very impressive as usual!
What was the timing between the initial gingivectomy and the crown lengthening?
Beautiful case as always!!!!
I see patient has a wear, how did you address her envelope of function? I see also #24 lost incisal restoration ( I might be wrong), if yes, did it happen during provisional wear? Gregory

Did you do cutbacks on those incisal edges?
Inspirational for sure.
No cut-backs, just MT emax with multi-fire stain/glaze characterization.

Edit: I just realized I misread your question. Crown lengthening needs to be done 2-4 weeks after the gingivectomy; beyond that timeframe and you're risking chronic inflammatory response kicking in. Then six months healing post-ECL before the final restorations. I hope we're not seeing rebound on #7 and 8 now that I'm closely evaluating the final photos.
I would love to know more about your workflow and photos of the ginigvectomy and crown lengthening. Laser? Diode? CO2? Also, were your margins still in enamel?
Incredible dentistry Ross! Your treatment plan and execution was spot on. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.
